Custom Stone Patio & Fire Pit in Halifax
A curved interlocking-paver patio with an integrated natural-stone fire pit and seating wall, built on a compacted aggregate base in our Halifax home base.
Project Overview
The homeowners wanted to extend their living space into the backyard for year-round entertaining. We designed a curved patio layout, excavated a deep compacted base, laid an accent-border paver pattern, and built a custom stone fire pit with a surround and seating wall.
⚠️ The Challenge
The sloped backyard required a low retaining wall and careful grading to keep the patio level and prevent runoff onto the pavers.
💡 Our Engineering Solution
We installed a structural stone retaining wall with a compacted aggregate base, then screeded and laid pavers with laser-level accuracy before locking the joints with polymeric sand.
